Sample Type
2 mL (1 mL min.) plasma from 1 Grey Top (Sodium Fluoride) tube AND 10 mL (5 mL min.) aliquot of corresponding urine for each timed specimen. Collect fasting baseline plasma and urine specimens (0 hr). Dissolve 75g Glucose in adults / 1.75 g / Kg body weight in children (not exceeding 75g) in 300mL water. Administer orally over a period of 5 minutes. Collect additional plasma and urine samples at 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5. 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 hours. Note time drawn on each tube, urine vial and test request form. Specify amount of glucose administered on test request form. Overnight fasting mandatory . Ship refrigerated or frozen.
